Saltwater Charters — Florida Keys & Bays
I run saltwater trips in the Florida Keys and the surrounding bays seasonally and by request — they’re not on a set schedule like my Okeechobee trips. Tell me what you want to catch and when, and I’ll be straight with you about what’s realistic that time of year.
My 23-foot Key West bay boat is at home inshore and nearshore — the bays, the flats edges, and the patch reefs. That’s where these trips shine, and the boat fishes up to four anglers comfortably, so families work well. For anything bigger or farther out, the trip gets planned around the right water and the right conditions, which is one more reason to reach out early with your dates and goals.
Where We Fish
Inshore — Bays & Flats Edges
Working the bays, channels, and edges of the flats for tarpon, snook, and redfish on light tackle. There’s usually protected water somewhere no matter which way the wind blows — a real advantage on a bay boat.
Nearshore — Patch Reefs
Dependable, family-friendly fishing over the patch reefs and hard bottom close to the islands. Snapper are the mainstay, with grouper mixed in — steady action and great eating in relatively calm water.
Bigger Water — When It Lines Up
Mahi, sailfish, and the other offshore species are a seasonal, conditions-dependent call. When the weather and the trip plan allow, we can talk about it — but I’d rather tell you up front what the forecast supports than burn your day chasing water we shouldn’t be on.
